Feel better … because there's no better feeling.

Start. — Do It Now.


That’s right. START. Whatever you start, or however you start, it doesn’t have to be a big thing.

It could be walking 10 minutes a day.

It could be adding more veggies or greens or water or ________ to your daily diet.

It could be parking further away from the store or the office.

It could be writing that thank-you note.

It could be getting up at 5 am to journal, meditate, or _________.

It could be cutting back on “screen time” (TV, computer, _______).

It could be promoting your new career with one post on Facebook.

It could be writing that newsletter, blog post, or report.

It could be unpacking a box from the move last weekend (or from the move 5 years ago!).

These are just some of my “STARTS”. There are a lot more things I could START, but right now, these are the most important.

Because I want to START a new career.

I want to START being healthier.

I want to START spending my time more wisely (which is also on the Kindergarten report card—let’s START that skill early!!).

So, how do you START?

Before you START, you need to know where you want to end. What’s your goal? Is it better health (lower blood pressure, lower weight, _______)? Is it more energy? Is it a new career, hobby, friendship, _______? Is it getting your finances under control? Is it building a spiritual practice?

These all START with a small step—a baby step. You can’t do it all at once. You SHOULDN’T do it all at once. Baby steps are easier to manage and easier to accomplish. Then, you take another baby step…until, finally, you’re there! Sometimes it takes day, or months, or years. But with baby steps you can get there.

Jon Acuff ( had this to say:

So—START. Whatever it is you want to do, whatever it is you’re meant to be—START.
